A very short introduction to CRH Performing Arts Workshops
Craig Revel-Horwood is a well known face on British television as a judge on all the series of BBC TV’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’. He has also worked extensively in the West End as choreographer and director of many smash hit stage shows and musicals. He is now ‘putting something back’ with some of the most innovative and highly creative workshops for young people who want to make a start on the path to stardom in the performing arts.
He says, “It’s great to see so much young talent at these workshops; interacting and obviously having a great time. It’s all credit to the parents who allow them to attend these schools, getting them away from the playstations and the television.
The youngsters quickly gain confidence through the fun and excitement of performance while developing a wide range of skills and talents, even the very shy ones! The outstanding success of CRH Performing Arts Workshops is in performance.
The advantage that these schools have over any other is the people that the youngsters learn from. Hand picked professionals from the West End, Film and Television are carefully chosen, not only because they have ‘been there and done it’, but because they have specialised skills and talents which help them impart their experience and knowledge to the children”.
The Wiz Summer School
The course runs from the 1st August - 13th August 2010 inclusive. It is excellent value as we provide; West End Professionals who have a track record of appearing in West End Shows, costumes, lighting & sound equipment, scenery & props, make-up and the technical staff to run the shows.
Summer Schools are excellent places to develop the core skills in dance, singing and acting. Because of the intense nature of this course; 7 hours a day, the learning curve is extremely high, and the experience of being part of a show company is extensive.
You learn and appreciate awareness of the stage, technical rehearsals, sound and lights, make-up application, the technical aspects of wearing head or lapel microphones, respect of costumes etc. All these lessons are invaluable for a career in the Theatre, Television, Stage and Film.
