Teacher Biographies
CRAIG REVEL-HORWOOD
Craig is a well known face on British television as a judge on all four hit series of BBC TV's STRICTLY COME DANCING, and he has written a book entitled Teach Yourself Ballroom Dancing, published by Hodder. Craig also choreographed the recent hit BBC TV show HOW DO YOU SOLVE A PROBLEM LIKE MARIA? Craig is currently staging the dances for the play 'SIX DANCE LESSONS IN SIX WEEKS' at the Theatre Royal, Haymarket starring Claire Bloom and Billy Zane.
Craig's credits in the West End include SPEND, SPEND, SPEND at the Piccadilly Theatre, for which he received a nomination for an Olivier Award for Best Choreography, and MY ONE AND ONLY, also at the Piccadilly Theatre, for which he received a further Olivier Award nomination. He was associate director/choreographer on WEST SIDE STORY at the Prince Edward and Prince of Wales Theatres, and assisted Bob Avian on the Olivier Award winning choreography of MARTIN GUERRE at the Prince Edward Theatre, and was resident director on MISS SAIGON at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane. Craig choreographed HARD TIMES – THE MUSICAL at the Theatre Royal, Haymarket; CALAMITY JANE at the Shaftesbury Theatre and UK tour; TOMMY COOPER – JUS' LIKE THAT at the Garrick Theatre, and directed and choreographed BEAUTIFUL AND DAMNED at the Lyric Theatre.
Other choreography includes PAL JOEY, ARCADIA, ON THE RAZZLE and MY ONE AND ONLY at the Chichester Festival Theatre; EATING RAOUL at the Bridewell Theatre; GUYS AND DOLLS at the Crucible Theatre, Sheffield; ANYTHING GOES and SOUTH PACIFIC (also directed) at Grange Park Opera; PARADISE MOSCOW for Opera North; CARMEN at Holland Park; SOPHIE TUCKER – THE LAST OF THE RED HOT MAMAS (New End Theatre); CRAZY FOR YOU (South Africa); FAIRY TALES (Drill Hall); FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, TITANIC THE MUSICAL, COPACABANA and SWEET CHARITY (Amsterdam and Dutch National tours); CHESS and COPACABANA (Denmark) and most recently directed and choreographed THE HOT MIKADO at the Watermill Theatre, Newbury.
Craig staged BONHEUR at the world famous Lido du Paris, and created choreography for GLANZLICHTER, currently running at the Friedrichstadtpalast in Berlin, Europe's largest revue theatre. He directed and choreographed THE LEGEND OF THE LION KING at EuroDisney in Paris; directed the Opening Ceremony of the Commonwealth Games in Manchester and staged ONCE UPON A TIME - THE LIFE OF HANS CHRISTIAN ANDERSON for Endemol/Initial TV, a worldwide televised live concert in Copenhagen to mark the bicentenary of Hans Christian Anderson. Craig choreographed the Kurt Weill opera DER KUHHANDEL for the Bregenz Festival in Austria (which was subsequently restaged for Opera North and the Vienna Opera), and returned there to stage the Strauss opera A FUNNY WAR.
ADRIAN GOODFELLOW, ARAD AISTD
Adrian graduated from Doreen Bird College in June 1985. Adrian is an outstanding professional Dancer and Actor with a firmly established career spanning 20 years. He has performed in many West End musicals, such as, 'Annie Get Your Gun', 'The Goodbye Girl', 'Cats' and as a member of the original cast of 'Chicago'. He was also Resident Director of 'Chicago' in London, and on tour.
He also performed in the International tour of 'Fosse' in Europe and Japan and appeared as Principal dancer in large cabaret spectaculars in Malaysia, Thailand, Seoul, South Korea and the Gold Coast of Australia.
Since 1997, Adrian has also been Dance Captain and assistant to the Dance Directors Ann Reinking and Gary Chryst on several productions of 'Chicago' and 'Fosse', and associated special events working with Ruthie Henshall, Ute Lemper, Shirley Bassey, Peter Davison, Maria Friedman. Les Dennis, Darius Danesh, Nigel Planer, Valerie Pettiford, Joel Grey, Chita Rivera, David Hasselhof, Lynda Carter and Brooke Shields.
He is a qualified teacher of both the Royal Academy of Dance, and the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing – truly exceptional.
PETER HEPPLETHWAITE
Peter Hepplethwaite has a career established in Theatre, Television & Film. He is an extremely talented actor, and has played many varied roles in his career. Originally, Peter trained at Webber Douglas in London. He appeared in 'Peter Pan' as Noodles, which launched his musical theatre career.
From here he has appeared in 'Sunset Boulevard' as 'Finance Man' at The Adelphi Theatre, London; in the play 'Keep Turning Me On' part of The Critic, Kings Head Theatre; in 'Miss Saigon' as Schultz, Theatre Royal Drury Lane, and in the outstanding, 'Les Miserables' as 'Thenardier', in the National Tour under Matt Ryan.
From here Peter decided to concentrate on Television as a career and has successfully worked for the BBC, Carlton TV, LWT, Granada TV . He has appeared in 'The Bill', 'Coupling', 'The Office', 'Eastenders', 'My Family', 'Randall and Hopkirk Deceased', 'London's Burning', 'One Foot In The Grave', and more recently as 'Jed' in the hit series 'Green, Green Grass',BBC1 spin off of the Hit comedy 'Only Fools and Horses'.
SAM HALL
Sam trained at The Arts Educational London Schools and graduated
winning The Harmer-Smith Prize.
His Theatre Credits include; Dance Captain in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (London Palladium), Assistant Dance Captain & Understudy to Amos Hart in Chicago (UK National & Asian Tour), Dance Captain in Peter Pan (Birmingham Hippodrome, Kiss Me Kate (Victoria Palace, London), The Witches Of Eastwick (Prince Of Wales, London), The Wizard Of Oz (Leicester Haymarket), Bill Bailey, Mungojerry & Skimbleshanks in Cats (New London Theatre), Understudy to Doody in Grease (UK National Tour), Shehallion (New Clyde Auditorium), Young Hindley in Sir Cliff Richard's Heathcliff (Apollo, London & UK national Tour) & A-Rab in West Side Story (Cambridge Corn Exchange). MICHAEL CAHILL
Michael Cahill trained at the Arts Education Schools in London.
He has had a versatile career including Film, Television, Radio and Theatre. Michael has a number of directing and choreographic credits to his name including a concert tour of Les Miserables in Taiwan. He directed, Can't Stand Up For Falling Down and was lucky enough to have been Assistant Director on the UK premier of Songs for a New World both at the Bridewell Theatre. He has recently finished a successful run of the Wizard of Oz where he was assistant choreographer to jenny Arnold.

JULIAN BIGG
Julian Bigg has a firmly established career across a wide variety of musical activities, working regularly in Great Britain, Europe, South America and Australia, in concert, theatre, ballet, TV, radio and the recording studio. His recordings have won many accolades including The Sunday Times and The Guardian Record of the Month Award, and Classical Music Magazine's Record of the Year and he was featured on BBC News as having appeared on BBC Radio 1,2,3 and 4 in the space of one week.
In the world of West End Musical Theatre he has unrivalled experience of large scale productions having been Music Director of Les Miserables (twice), Miss Saigon (twice), The Phantom of the Opera (twice), Sunset Boulevard, Cats and The Witches of Eastwick. He was Associate Conductor of My Fair Lady at Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, was Musical Supervisor for The Australian and Russian productions of 'The Witches of Eastwick' and is Musical Supervisor for the Czech productions of 'Les Miserables' and 'Miss Saigon'. He has also auditioned hundreds and hundreds of potential professionals for the casts of West End productions.
As a sought after Music Director for corporate events and presentations, he has worked with many of the country's top entertainers and artists.
He is no stranger to large outdoor events having been given the honour of being the Musical Supervisor for the HM The Queen's 40th Anniversary celebrations at Earl's Court, and her Golden Wedding celebrations at Windsor, as well as The Golden Jubilee Celebrations at Buckingham Palace in front of 800,000 people and many millions worldwide on TV. He was also Musical Director for the official VE50 and VJ50 day commemorations in Hyde Park and Horse Guard's Parade.
Recent events of which he has been Music Director have been the 200th Anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar in Portsmouth Sound, the Opening Ceremony for the Aspire Sports Academy in Qatar and the Inaugural Al Makhtoum Memorial Challenge Horse Show in Dubai. Julian regularly conducts most of this country's great orchestras and is also a regular professor at The Royal Academy of Music in London.
EMILY ANDERSON - Dance Teacher
Emily trained and graduated from the Central
School of Ballet, London.
She made her professional debut with the English National Ballet Company in 'Romeo & Juliet' and later 'Swan Lake'. She went on to appear in the in the UK Tour of 'Cats', playing Victoria (White cat) for two years. She has a wide range of ballet, modern, and choreographic skills which she applies at our school. She is now appearing in the West end show, 'Chicago'.
HAILEY PRINCE - Dance Teacher
Hailey trained at Elmhurst Ballet School with a full
scholarship, studying Classical and Contemporary
dance and Jazz dance and Commercial Theatre.
Whilst at Elmhurst, she also completed her teacher qualifications in ISTD Ballet and Modern Theatre along with A-Levels and a Higher National Diploma in Dance.
Following her training, Hailey worked in many areas of professional theatre, including classical contemporary soloist for Ballet Soul.
In 2005, she was appointed Artistic Director and Choreographer for the Bournemouth Ballet, working with a cast of 75 auditionees to showcase their talents in Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary and Singing.
Hailey is now Directing Berkshire Youth Ballet, a youth production Ballet company.
Hailey also continues to teach ISTD Ballet and Modern around Berkshire as well as teaching as part of the dance staff for Thames Valley University's Dance Degree course, Creative Academy.
